UINTA DA RAPOSEIRA-ÁGUA DA CUBA - MARVÃO - ALENTEJO
Quinta da Raposeira - Água da Cuba is a farm with a built complex consisting of two houses on the ground floor and first floor with patio, oven, tank, fountain and a separate house, formerly intended for agricultural support, with absolutely exceptional intrinsic conditions of enjoyment of nature.
The built-up area of the farm, with a gross construction area of 248 m2 - which, due to the fact that the respective buildings were constructed before Decree-Law 38382 of 7 August 1951 came into force, does not require a "licence to use" - presents great potential for optimisation, and its rehabilitation is possible with the articulation of the different spaces and the use, in retention, of the much water existing in the farm and that coming from the hillside upstream.
The land of the farm, with a total area of 1,55 ha, composed of natural meadow and cultivation area, with olive trees, cork oaks, oak trees and various fruit trees, vines and citrus trees, has a well with abundant water for irrigation, and benefits from three water lines that cross it longitudinally.
To the referred patrimony adds a rustic building in the proximities, with an area of 1750m2, composed of underlying soil of olive grove and arable crop of cork oaks and strawberry trees.
All the areas and the respective differentiated spaces are entirely delimited by granite walls.
The estate is located between the village and neighbouring parish of Santo António das Areias - where there is a pharmacy, commerce, restaurants[DG1], market, ATM, green leisure area, municipal sports equipment area with playing field, gymnasium and swimming pool - and the county seat, the "Mui Nobre e Sempre Leal Vila de Marvão".
With access ensured from the main road network, and at a short distance, by local public paths, the respective sites of the farm and the attached land benefit from a unique natural environment, marked by the contrast between the green surfaces, the sound of the water from the barrocas and the silence of a rough nature of cliffs, which embodies the unique silhouette of the medieval town of Marvão. Here, where the values of heritage, nature and environment punctuate and frame unique events, such as the grandiose and internationally recognized "Music Festival of Marvão", the Islamic Festival of "Al Mossassa", the Chestnut Fair - Chestnut Festival or the small pedestrian routes, to appreciate the specific environmental beauty of this area of the Natural Park of Serra de S. Mamede. Mamede Natural Park, and of themes such as the wealth of local mycology, the diversity of specific endogenous or gourmet products, the excellent local Alentejo gastronomy or, the ancient smuggling routes and the ancient and excellent existing historical heritage - from prehistoric to the Roman and medieval - from which we can distinguish the city of "Ammaia", the medieval town of Marvão and the fortified group of the wall and the respective castle, currently under application for "World Heritage of the Fortresses of Raia Luso - Spanish, of UNESCO".
